Comp 2: The Creekside BBQ Battle
Our second BBQ comp and the first Australiasian BBQ Alliance (ABA) event we attended.
Set at the Creekside Hotel Warracknabeal which is a lovely venue and setting.
With 17 teams competing we were pleased to get an 8th in Lamb and 10th in Chefs choice.
Comp 1: the 2015 Melbourne BBQ Festival
Our first ever BBQ Competition was an Australian first also, with the Kansas City Barbecue Society (KCBS) coming to Australia, 15 teams, we finished last.
It was a legitimate baptism of fire, as complete newbies to Competition BBQ we absorbed as much as we could from more seasoned competitors.
Comp 3: the 2016 Melbourne BBQ Competition.
Comp number 3 and our 1st aniversary and second crack at a KCBS Comp.
Held at the Flemington Racecourse Nursery this event was excellent.
With 34 teams competing we were pleased to get 8th in Pork Ribs and 9th Lamb.
Comps we have entered and completed and competitions that are coming up.
Comp 4: 2016 Port Macquarie BBQ Wars.
This Comp was huge, and took us 19hours to drive to, but was completely worth the effort..
With 84 teams competing we were pleased to get 12th in Pork Ribs and 23rd overall.
Comp 5: Up In Smoke Adelaide.
Back in the mother land, we were rapt to be at the first ABA comp in SA.
This comp will be legend for the horrific weather overnight.
With 22 teams competing we were pleased to get 5th in Pork Ribs and 8th in Lamb.
Comp 6: 2016 Creekside
The second comp was as good if not better than the first.
A very nicely laid out comp under shady trees next to a creek full of water, on the doorstop of a great pub.
26 teams were got an 11th in Lamb and Pork Ribs.
